Abstract

Under the European Union Cosmetics Regulations, fragrance ingredients that require labeling as fragrance allergens have been reviewed, and in 2023 the number has been strengthened from 26 items to 83 items, including essential oils (Commission Regulation (EU) 2023/1545). In this study, we conducted an in silico evaluation of the activation of TRP (Transient Receptor Potential Channel) A1 ion channel, which is an in vivo target molecule of various indoor environmental chemicals including aldehydes such as formaldehyde.
