Abstract

Maximum displacement response of SDOF system subjected to finite cycle sine wave is calculated in order to estimate the conceivable maximum displacement response of structures. As results, the maximum displacement response equations are proposed for 3 restoring force characteristics respectively. The equations are represented by 2 parameters: natural period of SDOF, peak ground velocity of finite cycle sine waves.
