Abstract
“Koto-tsukuri” is a concept of “making fact” which is used in contrast with “Mono-zukuri” (“making things”). It is a way to create logical and abstract chain of thinking rather than to create things by hand and by machine. TRAFST has been emphasizing importance of “Koto-tsukuri” way of thinking in academic sectors, in industrial sectors and in business sectors. There have been, however, questions on what “Koto-tsukuri” is in academic definitions or on how to describe and utilize it in practical world. The special panel session “Treasures in Koto-tsukuri” was organized in the 14th TRAFST Conference 2023 to discuss academic and practical aspects of “Koto-tsukuri”. This paper summarizes presentations and discussions in the special panel session together with historical records on “Koto-tsukuri” activities in TRAFST.
