Abstract
Cyclic tensile stress-strain diagrams for a number of non-woven fabrics and some leathers have been compared.
There are apparent differences among plastic extensions under one cyclic load applied on these materials, and also, the ratio of the maximum elongation under the first cyclic load to that the second cyclic load applied on these materials has different values.
For non-woven fabrics, these factors depend on their compositions, such as the weight ratio of fibers to the binders in them.
Therefore, these two factors—the plastic extension and the ratio of maximum elongation—may be recommended as useful means to compare the physical properties, such as permanent deformation, shape-retension of nonwoven fabrics.
