Abstract

The pressure flow of the non-Newtonian fluid in an eccentricdouble walled tube with a rotating inner cylinder is numerically calculated by the finite difference method.Results are summarized as follows :
1) The flow rate is enhanced by the rotation of an inner cylinder.
2) For the Newtonian fluid, the axial velocity component is independent on the transverse velocity component.
For the non-Newtonian fluid, however, both velocity componentsare closely related to the non-Newtonian viscosity.Consquently both velocity distributions vary each other.
3) The Angle of the secondary flow region of the non-Newtonian fluid is less than of the Newtonian fluid.
4) The pressure distribution on the outer cylinder is affected by the axial flow.The elasticity of the fluid hardly affects the velocity field, but affects the pressure distribution on the outer cylinder and makes it unsymmetric.
