Part6 : Evaluation of Clothing Waveforms by Wavelet Transform

Abstract

When changed clothing size and materials, influence for a clothing wave form was investigated. The wavelet transform was applied to extract a characteristic of clothing wave form, for evaluation of size fitness of clothing with body. The clothing waveform was represented by wavelet transform simultaneously with an angle domain and a frequency domain. The magnitude of wavelet transform of wave data at the angle offered the detail information of clothing waveform at each frequency.
An altering angles specfied a wave form by patternize clothing wave form by wavelet transform. Experimental clothing wave form was compared with the standard by the pattern to investigate the degree of similar clothing wave form.
The contour color figure of wavelet transform can detect a small variation of the clothing wave form at the bust line by a change of materias and size definitely. The pattern of wavelet transform at the hip line was taken clear a wave form difference by a size change. These can become the good index that judge size fitting clothing.
It was found that it was important for size fitting clothing to select materials suiting for a design, because when clothing materials varied, a change of wave form was larger clothing fitting body size than big clothing of size.
