Abstract
The present paper describes the distribution of orientation angle and the degree of fraction of short fibers in the steady flow of a Newtonian fluid and a dilute polymeric fluid through a 1 : 4 expansion channel .Fibers in the dilute polymeric fluid at even 18ppm polyacrylamide (PAA) in a solution of syrup in water tend to aligne to the flow direction compared with the orientation of fibers in the solution of syrup in water .Degree of fiber distribution near the wall in the solution of syrup is less than that in the solution of syrup and PAA in water, because polymers in the fluid have property to align the fiber with a streamline
