Abstract

Accurate prediction of ship propulsion performance is one of the most important factors for designing energy-saving devices(ESDs). It is necessary to select a reasonable method that achieves both economic efficiency and analysis accuracy for CFD application at the design stage, and so best practices for grid systems, turbulence models, discretization schemes, and propeller model need to be found. In this paper, some studies are carried out based on the turbulence theory and the numerical analysis theory. In addition, the effectivities are confirmed through model scale CFD analysis.
