Abstract
Turboexpanders operate at relatively high speeds-up to 100, 000 rpm and there are numerous threatening problems, which it must not encounter. The several obstacles to successful turboexpander operation described above, (and numerous others not pertinent to the objective of this paper), yielded to the procedure of successively optimizing the numerous functions of the turboexpanderts elements, first individually and then collectively.
