Abstract

In order to evaluate the availability of Makkink's Solar Radiation Method, we had measured weather data and actual evapotranspiration rate for two years. Obtained results are summarized as follows:
1 According to the increase in the actual evapotranspiration rate, original Makkink formula underestimated the evapotranspiration rate more largely.
2 There was an negative correlation between Etmk/Eta and daily mean saturation vapor deficit and air temperature.
3 Although Makkink G.F. (1957) obtained an empirical constant a=0.61 on the grassland in Netherlands, the constant on the lawn in this study becamea a=0.77.
4 As a result of various investigations on the modification for Makkink formula by using saturation vapor deficit and air temperature, we obtained a modified Makkink formula G (eq. (13) ) which resulted in good estimations.
