An Adaptive Predictive Coding Scheme of Images Using Neural Networks

Abstract

Adaptivity is provided by selecting a neural network and quantizers based on both variance of prediction error signals in each subblock and the rate-distortion characteristic derived from the standard distribution of these signals.
