Experimental Hardware of Letter-Box Method Wide Aspect EDTV Encoder・Decoder

Abstract

This paper describes experimental hardware of letter-box method wide aspect EDTV. In this system, static and dynamic resolutions are improved with a vertical-temporal augmentation signal transmitted in the top and bottom panels and a higher horizontal resolution component embedded on "Hole".
