Performance of Viterbi Decoding System For (1,7) Code

Abstract

We proposed new method of Viterbi decoding for (1,7) code, that is 4-state Viterbi using correlation of (1,7) code. We estimated error probility by computer simulation, and got better probability with 4-state Viterbi decoding than bit-by-bit decoding.
