Abstract

Improvement of temperature characteristics of a wideband optical isolator for 1.5μm wavelength has been developed using Bi-substituted terbium iron garnet (TbBiIG) single crystal as a Faraday rotator. The optical isolator features 0.2μm bandwidth, 0.4dB insertion loss and 34dB backward loss at a wavelength of 1.5μm.
