Real-time Detection of Facial Direction Using a Color Image

Abstract

This paper proposes a real-time detection method of a facial direction from a color image. For calculating a facial direction, a face, a mouth and eyes are extracted by using chromatical and geometrical heuristics. The accuracy and speed of the proposed method with an EWS are also shown.
