A Study on Elliptical Horn Antenna for 2.6 GHz Band Broadcasting Satellites

Abstract

At WARC-92,2.6GHz band (2.535〜2.655GHz) was allocated for several countries including Japan. An elliptical beam antenna is suitable for this satellite because of larger gain and lighter weight. We have studied how to design the elliptical horn anntena that is used for the primary feed. The characteristics of circular polarization and radiation patterns are examined.
