Characteristics of distortions disturbing a digital-modulated signal in an optical cable TV system

Abstract

In an optical cable TV system, non-linearity of a laser diode causes a number of distortions (CSO, CTB, etc). We measured the characteristics of distortions in a digital modulaiton channel. Experimental results show that the amplitude distribution differs from the Gaussian distribution and changes according to the number of distortion components.
