Depth perception characteristics measured using spatial sinusoidal patterns with binocular parallax

Abstract

The depth discrimination sensitivity of the visual system was measured using brightness and chrominance spatial sinusoidal grating patterns with binocular parralax. The sensitivity to chrominance patterns was remarkably lower than that to brightness patterns, and the highest sensitivity spatial frequency was higher for brightness gratings than for chrominance gratings.
