Change of chromatic and luminance contrasts in memory for colored pictures

Abstract

We studied characteristics of memory for colored pictures. In the experiments, the observer memorized colored pictures and then he selected the same pictures in a set of test pictures. Some of the test pictures were only changed in chromatic and luminance contrasts. Our results indicate that both the chromatic and the luminance contrasts are emphasized in our memory.
