Abstract
It is profitable to design the improvement of the range of discharge water for fire fighting equipment. For achieving the improvement of the range of discharge water, it is increased fluid friction in guide pipe line to the nozzle, and as a result the pressure loss of the entire extinction device is increased. It is a primary factor of the pressure loss which generates the swirling flow in the pipe by the piping element such as elbow, bend tubes where the conduit is formed, and increases resistance in the conduit. It is possible to set up the flow straightener into the nozzle upstream to remove the swirling flow. In this study, the shape of high efficiency flow straightener for fire extinguishing equipment is decided by experiment of making to visible by the spark tracing method. And it is verified the effect that the performance of the high efficiency flow straightener caused for the range of discharge water.
