Abstract
This paper is an introduction of the New Town issues in Japan. First, it focused on the features of New Towns, in terms
of locations, construction years, time periods, and development methods. Secondly, it categorized New Towns into seven
types based on the locations, sizes, functions, and development years. It pointed out four issues, which mentioned need to
cope with change of life, importance of sustainable reconstructions methods and moving to houses supports, area
improvements, and management organizations building.
