Abstract
This paper aims to present a pertinent counterproposal for urban land supply policy after setting up Kim's government of Korea. Serial studies have examined impacts on urban land supply policy caused by the land policy reform measures of Korea. We proposed the revision of the land policy reform measures and also the revision of land use planning in order to maximize positive impacts on land supply policy. Particularly, in this paper, it is focused on land supply policy for urban housing. The land supply policy for urban housing should be essentially reestablished to cope with the current issues in land markets and make land use planning more flexible and adaptable to the contemporary needs for land use. Consequently, two fundamental policy shifts in urban development method may be required: the shift from a new town-oriented development method to a redevelopment one, and the shift from a government directed method to a civil-directed one.
