Abstract
The objective of this study is to clarify the causes of difficulties of individually rebuilding wooden houses from the viewpoint of dispositional properties of the residents' attitudes and the conditions of properties, such as site conditions and conditions of lots abutting roads, and find the possibility of creating a space for building a community based on the residents' attitudes as well as improving living and residential environments, thereby exploring an approach to community building in urban areas where wooden houses are densely built. With the present state of living environment in the subject areas at Nogata 1-and 2-chome, Nakano Ward, Tokyo, the author examined the dispositional properties of the residents' attitudes.
