On anatomical features of Luchuconulus okinawanus, PILSBRY (1928) designated the characters of this genus to have short and rod-like appendix of penis which is originated in the middle of the penis sheath. Our study clarified that "L." gudei (PILSBRY, 1901) has different type of appendix that is inwardly curved, constricted here and there and originated from near the proximal end of penis sheath. This species also differs from other species of the genus in having a papillary flagellum and simple lateral teeth from 15th to 30th. Therefore, we established a new genus Takemasaia for "Luchuconulus" gudei.
