Freshwater and Brackish Water Neritid Fauna in Taiwan (Republic of China)

Abstract

The present paper deals with freshwater or brackish water neritid fauna in northern and central Taiwan. Twelve species in three genera (eight subgenera) were collected, of which five species are new records from Taiwan, and all of them are also distributed in Japan. There is a high zoogeographical affinity between Taiwanese and Japanese neritid fauna.
