Studies on the Molluscan Fauna around Shionomisaki, Southern Tip of the Kii Peninsula, Pacific Coast of Japan III : On the Systematic Position of the "Solariella" nektonica Okutani

Abstract

"Solariella" nektonica Okutani, 1961 is moved to the genus Ethminolia which is a member of the Subfamily Umboniinae. The appearance of axial riblets and the shoulder keel in the early protoconch may also represent the character of the genus Ethminolia. The distribution of this species ranges from Suruga Bay, Japan Sea and down south to off Kushikino, Kyushu, at a depth of 35-134 m.
