Abstract
This paper evaluates the usability of the camera-based interface which can assign various operations by estimating camera motion on a cellular phone. Since many keys are generally mounted in a mobile phone, a complicated function can be assigned adequately, but it is hard to say that it superior to in usability. In this paper, in order to evaluate the efficiency of the camera-based interface, we implemented character input application which can intuitively select a character. Multiple subjects measured the time which input text, and performed subjective evaluations, such as usability of camera based intuitive interface. The experiment showed that operation by the intuitive interface was superior to operation by the conventional method.
