Abstract

A color appearance model is very useful to reproduce color images of an imaged object under various illumination conditions, i.e., under various luminance levels and spectral power distributions. For this purpose, it is necessary to estimate spectral reflectances of an object being imaged at the spatial resolution of a camera pixel and to reproduce a color image of it under various illuminations using a color appearance model. Multi-band images of three different art paintings were captured by a multispectral camera and those image data were used to recover the spectral reflectances of the paintings. This paper describes the experimental results on the performance a color appearance which is called as CIECAM02.
