An Identification Method of Color Bars Attached to Ceiling Lighting Fixtures for Indoor Positioning Systems

Abstract

It is difficult for a user to know the current location in a complex building or underground shopping mall without a map. It is also difficult for the user to move from the current location to the destination. Usually, the user cannot use GPS when trying to measure and grasp his/her current location indoors. We have developed a system that measures the current position indoors by taking a photograph of the ceiling luminaire installed indoors and the color bar attached to it. We have also developed a system that provides direction guidance to the destination based on the measurement results of the current position.
