Abstract
This paper is concerned with the calculation method of viscous flow around ships based on the parabolic and partially-parabolic flow solution procedure. It is assumed that the flow around fore and middle part of ship hull is the parabolic flow taking the advantage of thin boundary layer character, and the flow around stern region of the hull is the partially-parabolic flow. Numerical calculations are carried for SSPA 720 liner ship, an axisymmetric body and a spheroid at incidence. The results of calculation show reasonable agreements with the measured ones in predicting velocities, pressure and turbulent properties. Remarkably, the separated recirculating flow around a spheroid at incidence is realized numerically by the present method.
