Abstract
The dynamic responses of the three legged platform for oceanographic research in winds and waves were measured with the simultaneous measurements of winds, waves and currents. Furthermore, the variation of the frequencies and damping coefficients of the vibration of the platform for seven years were measured by the free vibration tests and the exciter tests. The drag coefficients were also measured by the wind tunnel model tests. The response spectra of platform only in winds and both in winds and waves were measured respectively and their characteristics were discussed. At last a random vibration analysis was carried out using the measured power spectrum of waves. The calculated response spectrum of the platform was in good agreement with that measured.
