Abstract
A method is presented to calculate the steady wave-making resistance taking the effect of sinkage and trim into account within the linearized theory based on double-body flow. A new boundary condition of the ship hull is derived to take their effects under the assumption of small quantities of the sinkage and trim. The present basic equations are solved numerically to evaluate wave-making resistance, sinkage and trim for Wigley parabolic hull form. The calculated results show good agreement with existing experiments. As a result, it is found that the present method is useful for the accurate calculation of the wave-making resistance.
