Abstract
The title compound, (SeCH2COOH)2 or C4H6O4Se2, was synthesized and characterized by microanalysis, NMR spectroscopy (1H, 13C and 77Se) and single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Structural analysis revealed that carboxylic groups of the molecule form intermolecular hydrogen bonds with the O-O distance between the carboxylic acid groups in the range of 2.604 and 2.669 Å. The distance between two selenium atoms is 2.3054(14)Å.
