Abstract
The structure of 1′-ethanoyl-5′-methyl-3′-phenyl-1′,3′-dihydrospiro[chroman-3,2′-pyrrole]-2,4-dione was determined by X-ray crystallography. The compound crystallizes in an orthorhombic system and was characterized thus: P212121, a = 6.317(2)Å, b = 12.442(3)Å, c = 21.957(5)Å, Z = 4, V = 1725.7(8)Å3. The crystal structure was solved by direct methods and refined by full-matrix least-squares on F2 to final values of R1 = 0.036 and wR2 = 0.087.
