Analytical, Spectroscopic and Crystallographic Characterization of 3-[(2E)-3-Phenylprop-2-en-1-ylidene]pentane-2,4-dione

Abstract

The structure of 3-[(2E)-3-phenylprop-2-en-1-ylidene]pentane-2,4-dione was determine by X-ray crystallography. The crystallographic data analysis reveals that the title compound crystallizes in monoclinic system and space group P2₁/a with the cell parameters a = 12.7006(4)Å, b = 10.0271(5)Å, c = 20.1044(10) and β = 106.525(3)°. The crystal structure was solved by direct methods and refined by full-matrix least-squares on F² to final values of R1 = 0.083 and wR2 = 0.257. Some spectroscopic data were also reported.
