Abstract
Life cycle of Hypolymnas anomala, which does not inhabit Yaeyama Islands through the entire life stage, still remains unclear although it was frequently recorded as the wanderer species. I caught egg mass of this butterfly on the familiar host plant Piptrus arborescent on October 28, 2003 in Maesato, Ishigaki Island, and then succeeded in rearing of H.anomala larvae on the unfamiliar food plant Boehmeria niphonivera through the larval stage. Here I report the rearing records with some photographs.
