The Preliminary Report of the Difference of Activity between Male Butterflies and Female Ones in Argyreus hyperbius (Lepidoptera:Nymphalidae).

―Why do more males were observed than females in the field?―

Abstract

In Argyreus hyperbius, more male individuals were observed than female ones in the field. Then the author preliminarily observed the difference of activity between male and female in the greenhouse. The activity of male was quietly different from that of female, namely males moved actively to find females, but females were inactive not to be found by males.
