Abstract
Up to the present, the experimental infection with Paragonimus ohirai larvae in the gastropod molluscus belonging to 5 genera including 10 species has been carried out by the author and some other workers. The results showed that this fluke has a high infectivity to amphibious molluscs such as Assintinea parasitologica, A. yoshidayukioi, Paludinella japonica and Oncomelania nosophora rather than to aquatic molluscs. These results were compared with those of the experimental infection with other species of the genus Paragonimus in Japan. The grouping of Paragonimus species of Japan according to their infectivity to the molluscs was coincident with that by the morphological characteristics.
