CARBOHYDRATE METABOLISM OF COLI GROUP BACTERIA V. STUDIES ON THE COMBINATION OF THE NEW TYPE OLIGOSACCHARIDE

Abstract

As described in the previous paper, it was found that the new oligosaccharide consists of two molecules of glucose and one molecule of fructose, and these saccharides are obtained by hydrolysis of the oligosaccharide with dilute mineral acids.
The object of this paper is to describe the experimental results obtained in determining the combination type of above metioned oligosaccharide by means of the specific splitting action with some enzymes and by Tanret method.
