An epidemiological study on low back pain among clinical nurses

Abstract
Low back pain has been reported to be one of the most common health problems among clinical nurses.We so analyzed of low back pain among 718 clinical nurses and 133 clericalworkers by means of questionnaire.To compare both groups, a case control study was done. So it was revealed that low back pain was more frequently seen on clinical nurses due to the deference of working time and working posture.
On clinical nurses, the risk factor of low back pain were indicated sleeping time, number of attending patients, number of nights worked (16:00-24:00), working postures (squatting, twisting) and heavy lifting by questionnaire.
