Abstract
The Current Status and Reevaluation of Membership Regulations in the Musashino Art University Alumni Association examines the structure and operational challenges of the alumni association's membership regulations. Drawing on case studies from other universities, this research explores new strategies to address contemporary challenges. Originating from the Imperial Art School’s student association, the Musashino Art University Alumni Association has evolved into a large organization with approximately 70,000 graduates. However, adapting to rapid societal changes and meeting the diverse needs of graduates necessitates a reevaluation of its membership framework. This study analyzes alternative membership models and systems at other universities and highlights the importance of incorporating dropout students, current students, and international students into a flexible membership structure.
