Height data is very important for early detection of disease such as dwarfism, and for an indicator of the growth of low-birth-weight infants, newborns, and other infants. However, different from the cases for kids and adults, measurement of the height of the baby in a standing position is a difficult task. In this paper, we investigate a height estimation method of a baby lying in a bed by image processing. We estimate the height by applying two-dimensional image processing techniques to three-dimensional images obtained by Kinect.
