[Purpose] This study aims to organize the current status and issues related to “mucus aspiration and tube feeding” among care workers registered as service practitioners, with a focus on assessing the feasibility of their response during emergencies. [Methods] Quantitative text analysis was conducted on 14 sources obtained through a literature search on Ichushi-Web and CiNii, following the ENTREQ statement guidelines. Results and [Conclusions] Care workers express apprehension regarding “mucus aspiration and tube feeding” procedures and sudden user condition attributed to a lack of medical knowledge, skills, and experience. Registered care workers experience increasing physical and psychological stress due to increased workload and added responsibilities. There is scope for enhancing the content and methodologies of teaching in this field. While immediate reporting of user condition changes is prevalent, accurately assessing the user‘s condition remains challenging for caregivers. The study recommends the development of training materials and methodologies to address the gap in medical knowledge, skills, and experience among caregivers, thereby enhancing their observations and reporting accuracy.
