Journal of Biorheology
Aims and Scope :

The Journal of Biorheology (JBR) is an international, peer-reviewed, Open Access journal that publishes original articles, brief communications and review articles. The journal may cover a wide range of basic and applied science research topics in biorheology and its related area, including, but not limited to:

- Endovascular treatment
- Cardiovascular system dynamics and disease
- Blood rheology and microcirculation
- Cellular and molecular mechanobiology
- Tissue engineering and artificial organs
- Structure formation and functional expression / regulation of biological materials
- Rheology of food materials and soft matter

In addition to general issues, special issues on the above topics are planned and published on a periodic basis. The editors encourage submissions of theoretical, numerical and experimental contributions to discuss and explore the field. All research articles that are considered relevant for publication in the journal undergo peer review by at least two anonymous referees.

Copyright, Open Access and Fees :

Journal of Biorheology is fully Open Access and uses Creative Commons (CC) license, which allows users to use, reuse and build upon the materials published in the journal without charge or the need to ask prior permission from the publisher. All articles in the journal are Open Access. Authors are required to assign all copyrights in the work to the Japan Society of Biorheology, who then publish the work under the Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 (Attribution 4.0 International) International licenses, as detailed below. This license allows users to share and adapt an article, even commercially, as long as appropriate credit is given. Some funding bodies require articles funded by them to be published under a specific Creative Commons license. Before submitting your work to the journal, check with the relevant funding bodies to ensure that you comply with any mandates.

Article Processing Charge :

There are many costs associated with publishing scholarly journals, such as those of copy editing, typesetting and online hosting. To cover these costs in the absence of journal subscriptions, authors (or their representatives) are asked to pay article processing charges (APCs). The journal charges an APC of 20,000 JPY for all articles. Authors of accepted manuscripts will be invoiced for the APC before publication of their manuscript.

Notification on the revision of publication fee :

We will revise the publication fee of Journal of Biorheology. The new price of the Article Processing Charge (APC) is 40,000 JPY. Authors whose articles are accepted for publication in JBR are required to pay APC. The new APC will be applied to all articles submitted after the 1st of April, 2024, excluding special issue on Cellular and Molecular Mechanobiology. For submissions to the special issue on Cellular and Molecular Mechanobiology, the old APC will be applied.
We are looking forward to receive submissions of your great work.
