▶About the Journal
Journal
of the Japan Society of Naval Architects and Ocean Engineers is a
peer-reviewed, international open access journal, published regularly twice a
year in June and December. The journal is published in Japanese language, but
manuscripts written in English are also accepted.
▶Aims and Scopes
The
first issue of the predecessor journal (Zosen Kiokai Nenpo) of the Journal of
the Japan Society of Naval Architects and Ocean Engineers was published in
1897. Since then, considerable knowledge on naval architecture and marine
engineering has been accumulated and disseminated through publication of the
successor journals. Respecting this tradition, as an official technical journal
in Japanese, the Journal of the Japan Society of Naval Architects and Ocean
Engineers aims to provide a forum for discussions on the ever-evolving new
theories and technologies in naval architecture, marine engineering, and ocean
engineering. For this purpose, the journal compiles original, full-length,
refereed articles, and promotes discussions. The following areas are covered by
the journal, but articles on interdisciplinary and novel fields are also
encouraged.
1. Environment and ocean technology
2. Marine transportation and maritime affairs
3. Planning
4. Design and production technology
5. Equipment technology
6. Resistance and propulsion
7. Ship dynamics
8. Structures and material
9. Technological and cultural maritime history
