Recently, paint manufacturers have introduced paint systems that requires fewer coats than conventional paints. This is expected to reduce labor and overall repainting costs. However, there are several uncertainties regarding the durability and ease of application of this paint system. Therefore, in this study, accelerated environmental testing and workability confirmation tests were conducted to assess its performance. The accelerated environmental testing revealed that the paint system exhibits a certain level of durability. However, the workability confirmation tests raised concerns about its long-term durability and indicated that its application efficiency is lower compared to conventional painting methods. These findings suggest that the paint system designed for fewer coats may not result in significant time savings.
