History of the Journal of the Japan Oil
Chemists' Society
Since the establishment of the Japan Oil Chemists’
Society (JOCS) in 1951, the group has previously published its journal under
the names Yushikagaku Kyokaishi (until
1955), Yukagaku (until 1995), and Nihon Yukagaku Kaishi. The Journal of
the JOCS has served as an important resource for advanced technical papers on
the oil and fat industry. Since
2001, the journal consists of
the Journal of Oleo Science (JOS) in
English and Oleoscience in Japanese.
Celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2020, Oleoscience publishes a wide range of
articles every month with the aim of sharing new technologies and knowledge on
oils, fats, and colloid science. The editorial board carefully selects themes
that interest readers and then requests experts of the field to provide
articles on those themes.
