Since partial deletion of the long arm of chromosome 18-del (18q) -was first published by de Grouchy et al in 1964, several cases have been reported.
Typical phenotypes present in this syndrome with partial monosomy for chromosome 18 carries with dwarfism, muscular hypotonia, a peculiar dysmorphia of the ears and midface hypoplasia, beeing lunar face.
In our case untypical case of del (18) syndrome with complete cleft lip and palate carries with it high value of Ig-G, Ig-A, and Ig-M.

Injuries of oral soft tissues often occur in children. Injuries occur at the palate, the tongue and the buccal mucosa in most of the cases, and are due to falling down with chopsticks or a toothbrush etc. in the mouth. Usually the extent of the injuries are superficial and serious cases are rare.
We experienced two cases in which the foreign bodies penetrated into the buccal mucosa.
Case I: A 1-year-old boy fell down with a chopstick in his mouth, and the point of the chopstick penetrated into his left buccal mucosa. The foreign body was 45mm in length.
Case II: A 4-year-old boy fell down outdoors, and a bamboo stick penetrated into his left buccal soft tissue through the left buccal skin. The foreign body was 22mm in length.

We experienced a case of pleomorphic adenoma appearing in the sublingual gland of a child. The patient was a 13-year-old girl. She visited our clinic with a complaint of a tumor on the left mouth floor and a diffuse swelling on the left submandibular region. There was a mass in size of the tip of a thumb in the left mouth floor. It was easily movable, roundish and had smooth surface. The tumor was removed under general anesthesia. The removed mass (25×30×22mm) was oval and well encapsulated, and the cut surface was yellow-grey and solid.

Two cases of hemangioma occured on the upper lip of baby were reported. The tumors were successfully reduced using Nd: YAG laser that has the advantage of coagulation of the tissue and hemostatic effect.
Case 1 was a 3-month-old male baby with a chief complaint of swelling of upper lip. The tumor was cauterized by electric surgical knife under general anesthesia and then a sclerosing agent was injected (six times, total 4.5ml) for two months. But after two years, the tumor was regrown and was reduced using Nd: YAG laser under general anesthesia.
Case 2 was a 1-month-old male baby with a chief complaint of swelling of the upper lip. In this case the tumor was reduced using Nd: YAG laser under general anesthesia. But the after four months tumor had grown, and it was again reduced under general anesthesia by Nd: YAG laser.

Epidermoid cysts are commonly found throughout the body. In the oral regions, they usually appear in the floor of the mouth. As they grow, they may displace the tongue upward causing various speaking and eating difficulties. Therefore, adequate treatment of the cysts should be done immediately.
We found an epidermoid cyst in the floor of the mouth of a 9-year-old boy by school dental examination. The patient became aware of his sublingual swelling about six months prior to the examination. Although his teacher pointed out his unclear pronunciation, the patient evaded to mention the swelling. We removed the cyst under general anesthesia. In this way, we quickly remedied the patient's speaking and eating problems.
By this experience it was strongly suggested that not only school dentists, but also all dentists should always examine whole oral cavity precisely as well as the teeth.
