The Tenri Medical Bulletin was founded in 1998 (Heisei 10) as the official journal of Tenri Hospital and Tenri Institute of Medical Research. From the beginning, the journal adopted the peer review system, and has provided high-quality articles describing basic medical research and clinical investigation following strict review by experts in the relevant fields. As its contribution to scientific and medical societies has been acknowledged worldwide, the Tenri Medical Bulletin has been honorably listed in the Catalogue of the British Library (http://www.bl.uk) since 2007 (Heisei 19). Currently, the journal is listed on the Japan Science and Technology Information Aggregator, Electronic (J-STAGE), which was developed by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) as a platform for electronic journals, and the uploaded articles can be accessed from anywhere in the world (https://www.jstage.jst.go.jp/browse/tenrikiyo). The journal welcomes research articles from not only personnel of Tenri Hospital and Tenri Institute of Medical Research, but from all researchers and personnel involved in medical research and care.
