Abstract

The title compound, [2,6-(C2H5)2C6H3NH3]Cl, crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/a with a = 8.633(2), b = 20.530(2), c = 12.129(2)Å, β = 90.48(2)° and V = 2149.4(6). The atomic arrangement can be described as corrugated ribbons, containing ammonium groups of the organic cations and chloride anions. As well as electrostatic and van der Walls interactions, the component species interact through multiple hydrogen bonds.
